The Romance Cosmic

Southern flame cascades out in lines
Bathing western skies in warm locks
Her soft autumnal beauty shines
Throughout the vernal equinox

Bygone designs reflect catseye
As tomes decry each pass of mind
Those spies dance on and widen high
To be calmed with what they can find

Though no bauble calls her to knee
Each giggle is a breath of life
I chase to feel a bit more free
With evening steps both fleet and lithe

Then night casts shades betwixt those stars
So radiance stems to unite
Comforting waves of astral light
Coalescing from us to ours

And when wild forced flight divides
Lovers from the live-lined coil
To rest, to repair and toil;
The romance cosmic still collides
