The Ice Nymph’s Kiss

All bled out sunsets melting summer sands
Have faded in my heart for colder lands
The sunlit streets and farmer’s market dreams
Have fallen apart at their frayed out seams
In ways no one close to me understands

Souls singing from deep in winter’s gray grasp
Lovers so bound by climate that they clasp
Ceremonious revels in the snow
Daylight shimmers on white hills all aglow
Despite the chill bites of Jack Frost’s black rasp

Where once twilight made refuge of desert
I hope sunshine will no longer revert,
When I make landfall in northern forests
That promise me many seasonal rests,
The ice nymph’s kiss with which I always flirt
