The Burdens Absconded

So slender the silk line draws to a crack
As she mistakes her greedy reach once more
Without cause or care for her sacred chore
The unworthy mother slips and sways back

The eave will not comfort her concrete crash
As the darkened stranger slips out, away
With the child all fade to lightless space
As she grasps frantic at the manic lash

A spoiled court princess broken, unsung
For baubles outweigh her worth for her young
